As a results-oriented and strategic professional, you can join our team as a Program Advisor in the Accessibility & Inclusion Unit, Strategic Human Resources Business Branch. You will provide strategic advice, analysis, and support to Ministry senior executives on equity, diversity and inclusion planning and implementation initiatives that support creating and nurturing a respectful, equitable, accessible, diverse, and inclusive (READI) organizational culture and workplace that is anti-racist and free from discrimination and harassment for all employees.

This is an opportunity to:

·         Provide expert strategic advice and leadership on the requirements of key human rights, equity, diversity, and inclusion legislation and regulations to senior executives, staff, clients, and stakeholders.

·         Provide human resources policy advice and guidance to executives including support to the Deputy Minister on equity, diversity, and inclusion in the Ministry.

·         Work with enterprise partners like the OPS Inclusive Diversity Office, Anti-Racism Directorate, and the OPS Accessibility Office and other Ministry diversity and inclusion leads to plan and implement equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in the Ministry.

·         Support and guide Ministry executives and management to ensure successful implementation of equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives in the Ministry.

·         Plan, lead and manage projects that includes co-design methodologies, and analyze business processes and requirements.

·         Develop and deliver learning and awareness education sessions to promote an understanding and awareness of Ministry equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives

·         Conduct in-depth research, analysis, and evaluation of a wide variety of equity, diversity, and inclusion-related topics and issues, trends and activities to support the development of initiatives for the Ministry.

·         Provide strategic advice and guidance to Ministry Inclusion Councils and affinity groups, and lead the coordination and facilitation of Ministry interdisciplinary teams; and

·         Represent the Ministry at OPS-wide diversity and inclusion tables.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

·         Lead and assist in the delivery of program activities for the branch

·         Coordinate the implementation of Ministry commitments outlined under the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

·         Provide advice, direction and leadership on various accessibility issues to management

·         Assist with response and resolution of accessibility and diversity and inclusion issues

·         Assist with the identification, development and implementation of business strategies, processes, procedures, and automated tools to advance accessibility improvements

·         Conduct research, and use materials and data in the development of briefing materials, training and presentations to various audiences

·         Deliver training and presentations in support of accessibility, diversity and inclusion initiatives

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge

·         You have demonstrated knowledge of the theories, principles, practices, issues, and trends in accessibility, diversity and inclusion, and can translate strategic objectives into practical and actionable initiatives

·         You can lead the planning, development, implementation, and provision of support services on comprehensive diversity and inclusion program initiatives

·         You have knowledge of adult education, instructional and learning theories, principles and practices including curriculum development to support the planning, development and delivery of training and learning programs

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

·         You can develop and deliver a range of training and program-related products including presentations, education materials, program reporting and briefing materials, and ensure they are accessible

·         You demonstrate tact and diplomacy to synthesize, present and manage issues in a results-oriented environment, and assess and respond to business requirements

·         You are able to recommend effective strategies and innovative solutions

·         You can deal with sensitive and contentious issues, and support senior executives in resolving these issues through strategic advice

·         You are able to build and establish rapport with managers, senior executives, colleagues in other ministries and stakeholders

Research and Analytical Skills

·         You can conduct research to support the development/delivery of equity, diversity and inclusion awareness programs

·         You are able to make recommendations to Ministry senior executives on issues, trends and developments impacting equity, diversity and inclusion programs

·         You have research, analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and communicate barriers that have an impact on the branch’s business

Planning and Coordinating Skills

·         You have project management skills to plan and manage the development and implementation of various Ministry initiatives, programs, projects, and activities, and have an understanding of and can apply co-design methodologies to your work

·         You are able to coordinate consultation and advisory meetings relating to equity, diversity and inclusion project and program delivery with external and internal stakeholders

·         You can coordinate the development and implementation of training and education programs on equity, diversity and inclusion

Salary Range: $69,425.00 – $100,036.00 Per Year
