Position: Child Caregiver

Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent

Location: Toronto, Ontario – Major Intersection: Pape Ave and Danforth Ave

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Language: English

Benefits: Eligible for discretionary bonuses and/or salary increases at employer’s discretion. Employer will provide breakfast and lunch on working days.

Supervise and care for children in employer’s own residence;
Bathe, dress and feed children;
Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other light housekeeping duties;
Oversee children’s activities, such as meals, co-playing and rest periods, as instructed by employer;
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home;
Instruct children on and assist with personal hygiene;
Engage children in educational, age-appropriate activities (e.g., art, literacy);
Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development including outdoor play in morning and afternoon (e.g., park, with neighbours);
Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents;
Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings;
Take children to and from programs, school and appointments;
Occasional travel with employer’s family may be requested; and
Performing other errands as required.

2+ years of caregiving experience caring for infants/children aged 0-4 years;
Up-to-date first aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain;
Experience cooking, cleaning, laundry, and other light housekeeping duties;
Reliable and has excellent communication skills;
Nurturing, attentive and effective interpersonal skills;
Completion of High School required;
·         Ability to communicate in Cantonese Chinese is an asset;

Must be flexible to work evenings, overnights and weekends, if needed.
