Title of the position: Cook (NOC 6322)


Job duties:
Cook according to the specifications.
Accurately marinating the meat according to size and quantity.
Keep the food fresh according to first in first out (FIFO).
Cook according to the specified company guidelines.
Manage cook time during peak hours, using offset schedule during off peak hours,
Maintaining healthy, clean, and safe working environment.
Maybe required to work in shifts, weekends, and statutory holidays.
Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
Oversee kitchen operations.
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
Help plan menus, determine food portion size, estimate food requirements, and cost, and monitor and order supplies.

Terms of employment: Permanent and full-time

Wage: CAD $15 per hour for 40 hours per week

Skills requirements:
Knowledge of meat cuts, their texture.
Should be able to identify various meat parts and products.
Works well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Must be proficient in using sheaf’s knife, bread knife, boning knife, utility knife, santoku knife, paring knife, and fillet knife.
Must have the knowledge of Pakistani spices used for seasoning and their nature.
Must understand how those spices affect food and length of time needed for marination.
Must be detail oriented.
Must be able to provide exceptional customer service.
Must be able to work and thrive in a team environment.
Must be a self-starter and should be able to manage time properly.

Required education:
Completion of secondary school is preferred but not required.
Completion of a three-year apprenticeship program for cooks or completion of college or other program in cooking or food safety or several years of commercial cooking experience is preferred but not required.

Required work experience: Minimum 3 years of work experience as a cook, specifically hands-on experience working in a fast-food restaurant.
